"I can..." Statements for the Week of April 4th

We had a busy week with lots of discussion about wind and weather last week.  Our conversation is going to move towards temperature and clouds this week.  Unfortunately, we won't be talking about 70 degree weather like we could have if we had weather like yesterday!

Below are some pictures from tumbling with Mrs. G in gym last week.  We were supposed to have an assembly at the end of the day on Friday, but the man bringing the items for the assembly got stuck in the mud!  We had to switch gears and do it fast!  We improvised with an exercise assembly in the gym that everyone seemed to enjoy.

Reminders for the week ahead:

April 5th - BCPTO - Norway @ 6:30pm
April 6th - 1:00pm dismiss - PK-12 PD

**No April snack calendar.  We're working on the snacks that we have here!

Be sure to check out the Twitter feed on the side of our blog and our classroom Instagram account.  Students have been using my phone A LOT to document their learning with pictures.

Here are our "I can..." statements for this week:

I can...

  • read and write words with the oo sound like pull, shook, and could
  • identify cause and effect in a picture and text
  • make connections to better understand
  • change the middle sound of a word to create a new word
  • identify the tens and ones of a two-digit number
  • write a number in expanded form (40+6=46)
  • understand how to use a thermometer
