Benchmark Literacy/Word Work

Did you know Benton Community's second full year of implementation of the Benchmark Literacy curriculum resource?  We use these materials to learn and practice skills in each literacy area.  Check out these leveled texts.  Students have been provided with a wide variety of rich fiction and nonfiction texts.  Below is an example of one way you can help your child brainstorm prior to reading a text at home.  

We had a lot of different word work materials out today!  We were building words with three letter blends.  Next week, we will focus on words that use the a silent e to make an a make the long sound.  Examples of this are found in words like cave, bake, and gate.
